About 1455 Events
From StoryFest to local readings, 1455’s gatherings—virtual and live—celebrate the power of community through story.
1455’s programs—virtual and in-person—have attracted talent, and audiences, from around the world. but we also treasure the ability to feature live events. The guiding impulse that informs everything 1455 does is Community with-a-capital-C. We see our mission at 1455 as helping champion voices that might otherwise go unheard, while connecting communities in an increasingly bifurcated climate that creates barriers and isolation. Speaking of “new normal,” our world is not getting any less confusing or fractured, so 1455’s mission remains steadfastly transparent and positive: we celebrate storytelling and connect communities, by any means possible. Our commitment to keeping all programming free is non-negotiable. We see our duty, as individual creatives and fans, as telling stories, listening to others’ stories, and doing whatever we can to generate awareness and enthusiasm. At 1455 we believe story matters, and that stories are the antidote for despair and/or apathy. We will continue fostering dialogue, encourage healthy debate, and see if we might save our world, one exchange at a time.
